Why the Wormcity Wormery?

The first reason is that it's made locally. We firmly believe that a product designed to benefit the environment should be environmentally friendly. That's why we decided to steer clear of imports from far-off lands like China or Australia. Instead, we took matters into our own hands and created a wormery that is effective and aligns with our commitment to sustainability. By choosing locally sourced materials and manufacturing in our home county of Hampshire, we ensure that every aspect of our product reflects our dedication to both quality and environmental responsibility.

Size (Volume)

When it comes to choosing a wormery, size matters. You need a system that can handle your family’s waste effectively. Many so-called ‘family size’ worm composters fall short unless you purchase extra trays. Whilst researching, we found that most 3 or 4 tray wormeries on the market hold just 48 and 64 litres, respectively, averaging around 16 litres per tray. Our Wormcity wormery boasts 25.2 litres per tray, making a 3 tray setup 75 litres and a 4 tray setup 100 litres significantly larger. To match the capacity of our 3 tray model, you’d need a competitor’s 5 tray wormery. They don’t take up more space, just deeper trays with a large surface area.

Strong and Well Made

Crafted with a sturdy square base, the Wormcity Wormery offers unparalleled strength and stability. Say goodbye to wobbly legs or accidental overturns. Even when a curious worm ventures into the sump, our clever design with steps ensures they stay dry and safely return to the main trays. Constructed from recycled English plastic with UV protection, this wormery is built to last without succumbing to sun damage. Rest easy with our 5-year warranty, a testament to the quality and durability of our product.

Worms

Starting your wormery with an ample amount of worms is crucial for its success. The more worms you begin with, the more efficiently they will break down organic matter, leading to a higher success rate. Our wormeries include 500g (approximately 400-600 medium-sized, hungry, mixed composting worms) to ensure you kickstart your wormery effectively. Avoid starting with too few worms, as it can significantly delay the establishment process. Invest in the right quantity from the start for a thriving wormery experience.

My neighbour who isn’t online (honest) asked me to look for a wormary bin for them. As this is a large amount of money I got them to check product details and measurements about 3 times….. This product arrived earlier than stated (big tick) and was exactly to product description.
My neighbour’s are chuffed with this item.

    v pleased with wormery.
    Easy to put together
    worms arrived in good condition
Good instructions came with it also online instructions available
As per information provided the little bugers took a few days to settle in.
Woke first couple of days with worms escaped accross living room floor. Some died as they dried out. Others i put back in. Putting light on at night seemed to deter them from escaping – they then settled after about 4-5 days. Although i am locating the wormery outside(as i live in a small house) i thought i would set it up indoors for the first week and was glad i did as it was easy to put them back in the bin. I would recomend considering this to anyone else planning to keep bin outside .
i have now located the bin outside next to the shed where it is a bit sheltered and they seem happy feeding etc. I put tarpauling around them earlier in the week when we had 40-50 mph winds and they seem ok.
very pleased with product totally recomend it. Very pleased.

This is an excellent company to deal with. Efficient and fast. I ordered a 4 tier wormery with 500g start up pack from Amazon. Arrived quickly and worms were fine and healthy. I have previously kept worms, but in tote boxes, and just took up too much room. This wormery takes up little room an ground, floor etc, just the height changes. It is an excellent system, worms settled right in.
I was so impressed with its potential that I ordered another 5 tier direct from Worm City. Both arrived the same day. As an after note, I received an email from WC about worms I had ordered. They were delaying postage because of forecasted heatwave, how can you fault that. I would highly recommend this company.
    Kudos to their efficiency.

I followed VERMICOMPOST LEARN BY DOING set up on you tube. I kept the layer with the worms on the top level and the 3 layers at the bottom with cross cut shredded cardboard ready for rotation once the top in full. I also left the top cover off and just covered the top most active layer with a newspaper and bubble wrap to keep the bedding moist. I will keep the cover off for 48 hours and the lights one to prevent them from escaping. Got all my strawberries and veggies and banana peels in the freezer and my blended egg shells ready for when it’s time to feed them kitchen scraps. The kids are squeamish seeing me handling the worms but I like looking and seeing them wriggling around and hiding back in when I lift the newspaper to check how they are. I will post a review on you tube after I have finished getting it set at its permanent location. It will stay at my soap room for now.

My husband found it funny with one peeking out on the side from under the newspaper and went back in. He said their reconnaissance crew is now reporting that they are all covered from all areas.

I will not see an end to a litany of side comments about my new pets from now on.

Thank you again and hoping for a happy productive wormery.

Bought for my dad for his composting in his back garden. He absolutely loved it, really enjoyed the set up and my niece helped him put all of the worms in. He used it regularly and says it’s a very good addition.
